Week notes for week ending 2nd May, 2021
This is an experiment to try capturing interesting things I’ve come across in the past week (or so). Who knows how long I’ll keep this up?
- Hyvor talk is a commenting system for static sites that does not do privacy-unhingeing things on its basic plan (unlike, say, Disqus). It’s not free, but not that expensive. I’m trying it out on this blog.
- Sara Souieden is working on a new a11y course
- Ubuntu release 21.04 is held back while they try to fix a nasty bug
- the oh-so-handy page action to take screenshot in Firefox now requires you to use the page context menu
- parenthetically, to access the browser page context menu on sites that override right-click (Excalidraw, I’m looking at you), you can hold shift while clicking right to get the original browser context menu (works on Firefox on Linux; not tested elsewhere)
